Buy Local on Cape Cod This Holiday Season

Buying local has never been so easy—or so delicious—thanks to Kathleen, Gail and Fromage a’ Trois.

Spinach pasta with gorgonzola cream sauce is just one of the delicious specialties found at Fromage a’ Trois in West Barnstable.

At La Mer Concierge, we are proud to champion the effort to stay local and buy local all year round, including during the holiday season. That’s why we’re so pleased to tell you about one of our favorite places in West Barnstable—Fromage a’ Trois.

At Fromage a’ Trois, you’ll find amazing homemade pastas, crafted by hand and ready to top with one of chef Kathleen Kadlik’s homemade sauces. And, as the name suggests, you’ll also find an assortment of cheeses, including one of the store’s specialties (and one of our favorites), burrata—silky handmade mozzarella into which Kathleen, who received her training at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, incorporates amazing fillings like fig and almonds, white truffles or goat cheese with Herbs de Provence.

“We always have a lot of different things at the shop so that when people stop in their dinner is almost made,” said Gail O’Connor, Kathleen’s business partner. “They can choose from an array of pastas, a made-from-scratch sauce, amazing olive oil and aged balsamic vinegars and some of our beautiful cheese. We also now have bread that they can take home and finish off in their oven—it’s absolutely delicious.”

This year Kathleen and Gail have put together what we at La Mer believe is the perfect gift for those on your list who are hard to buy for.  In addition to the gift certificates that are always available, you can also purchase a membership in The Pasta Club. There are three levels to choose from—the Purist, the Foodie and the Entertainer.  As a member, they will receive a postcard detailing that month’s selection, which always includes at least one pasta, a sauce and baguette.   They also offer pasta making classes.
